I would suggest if you are going just for a day trip to leave from Long Beach that they have the earliest departure at 6:00AM it takes about an hour to get there and the last ship of the day leaves at 7:45PM.
So you can get the best of your day. I love that they have lockers at the port when you arrive in case you don’t want to be carrying things around.

This tour is about two hours and the best part is the gorgeous view of the island and wilderness around you.

This is one of the most charismatic stores in Catalina. They still have the same old taffy pulling machine from back in the days and it’s said that here is where Marilyn Monroe was discovered by a photographer while she worked as Norma Jeane Baker in this store.

This is without a doubt my favorite coffee shop in Avalon, the coffee and pastries are extraordinary plus they are pretty much the only coffee shop that opens early since I get up very early to take good photographs this is extremely convenient.

Best Time To Visit Avalon
Best time to visit I would say is between March and October, if you are planning on going during the summer time I suggest you book the tours in advance also the hotel.
If you are planning on going between November and March you might get better deals on Groupon. Also I love that they have lockers when you get down from the Catalina Express so if your are visiting for a day you can leave your things there and just carry around the essentials.
